Charles Bukowski: Poet on the Edge

Oct. 9, 2010–Feb. 14, 2011
Library, West Hall

It’s the time of year to eat, drink and be merry!  What says “the holidays” more than a pudgy, white-bearded man making lists of those naughty and nice – Charles Bukowski…?  In his own words, “Rest you merry gentlemen and rest you merry whores.”   That’s holiday spirit, isn’t it?

The exhibit showcases papers from Bukowski’s archive donated by his wife, Linda Lee Bukowski.  There are first editions, drafts, drawings and correspondences on view, as well as some personal effects from Bukowski’s desk: the manual typewriter to the glass of wine.
